A Fangirl’s Fave Web Series

Over that last couple of years I’ve gradually been immersing myself into the world of web series. In the beginning I watched a few episodes of Squarsville and The Guild, but it wasn’t until the awesomeness of The lizzie Bennet Diaries that I become rabidly obsessed with them.
Now I can’t get enough, I’m continuously looking for new and upcoming series to snatch on too. I’ve found some amazing ones, some okay ones, some long ones, some short ones, some old ones, some new ones, some completed ones and some ongoing ones. With all that hard work/ watching done, I hope to save you some precious time and give you the short list of my faves.
1. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (a modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice)
Besides the main vlog; there is a gold mine of extra content by Lizzie and other characters. Everything from Q&A’s, supporting character vlogs, and social media streams for all the characters and the cat. You can find all the videos here and if you need a little direction on when to watch what; check out this website.
2. Classic Alice
“Alice receives a bad grade on an essay, she partners with her friend Andrew to film a documentary about living her life according to classic literature.” -classic-alice.com.
The first season to this series has ended, but don’t worry a second season is on its way. Don’t forget to watch the prequels and extra content. If you want to know more; check out their official website.
3. The Autobiography of Jane Eyre (a modern adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre)
Jane Eyre is one of my all-time favorite characters, so by default I was inclined to like this series. I was hooked by the first episode.
4. Adult Wednesday Adams
A dark, funny, and short series about a adult Wednesday Adams. Im not sure what the status is for a second season but I still recommend it as a stand alone.
5. Ask A Slave
A comedy hosted by Lizzie Mae, housemaid to George and Martha Washington. The series is based on the actress’ time working as a living history character at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Check it out here.

Are you from a small town? Do you wish you lived in the the country? Are you a fan of Friday Night Lights and Tim Riggins? If you answered yes to any of these questions; then watch this series.

7. Kissing In The Rain
I won’t lie; i didn’t get the series at first, but when i did; I loved it. You can watch this series and more here.
8. Squaresville
Also staring the awesome Mary Kate Wells (LBD, Kissing in the rain) The show follows best friends Esther and Zelda as they deal with life in their suburban town, one adventure at a time. Check it out here.
9. The Guild
The show revolves around the lives of a gamers’ online guild, who play countless hours of a fantasy MMORPG video game. The story focuses on Codex (Felicia Day), who attempts to lead a normal life after one of her guild-mates shows up on her doorstep. Watch all six seasons here.
10. Emma Approved (a modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma)
Made by the creators of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries you will find a lot of the same type of extra content and social media streams that LBD had. Its fun, its quirky, and its a Jane Austen adaptation (enough said). Videos, Blog, Twitter, Facebook.
